ANNIVERSARY AND NEW PROJECTS

It is incredible but it’s been already two years since the Birding140 project was born. During this time, together with bloggers, twitters and birders who have honoured us with a few minutes of their time, we have lived great experiences and we have learnt about the wonderful world of birds.

Who could have said two years ago that all of us cooperating with Birding140 on both sides of the screen would be chasing cranes throughout the continent? Who could have said that we would visit, personally or through the screens of Birding140, such amazing places as Monfragüe, Doñana or the Ebro Delta? Today we want to thank you for being part of our little family.

How can we summarise these two years? Perhaps the best way of doing it is the following list of Birding140 articles. These are the 5 most read articles since the platform was born:

And now what? On which new adventures will the Birding140 family embark? We who cooperate with Birding140 from this side of the screen have asked our birder hearts and, as could not have been otherwise, the result has been the determination to undertake a new big adventure.

During this time we have tried to learn about the behaviour and mysteries of birds. We have also tried to show the general public everything we were learning. We would have liked to spread more and better the initiatives in favour of the birds we have been getting to know. However, until now we couldn’t devote enough time to provide the dissemination they deserve.

Now that the Birding140 project has grown and day after day new birders join our family, we believe it is time to thank the great effort carried out by people and collectives working in favour of birds. In the coming days we will start the adventure of trying to show the public the important task carried out by these collectives, and how much we have to thank them. We are building a platform for the dissemination of content dedicated to the groups working in favour of birds. It is still under construction, but you can already have a look.

We hope you like it and we can improve it together. Which collectives are we missing? Which topics should we discuss? What would you change?
